The netbook is equipped with 32-bit Vista and 2 GB of RAM. Is adequate, but unimpressive. The installation of the operating system adds a surprising amount of bloatware to load the last for a long period. Further NOS learned a lot and need constant updates - the laptop is still slow for the first 10-15 minutes after you start using automatic updates, and various downloads. After I pulled and pushed the memory to 4 GB, it was better but still not faster than my old P4 with XP Pro 2.8. When I have my laptop on the road and do minimal editing, I had planned to use Vista and Windows Movie Maker. Although this machine is not really designed for multimedia, I was surprised that you download an AVI or WMV, but frozen.

I had this netbook for 2 weeks before it stopped booting. Froze page BIOS and did not find the boot sector of the operating system. Whether or not there was a loose connector on the hard disk. I called Acer tech support, but they told me to restore from recovery CD. I explained that since this was a Netbook that no optical drive included with the system. She told me to start the recovery partition, even after I explained that the system does not recognize the hard drive. Ultimately, he offered to send me netbooks in Texas for repair, but I refused. Since it was within the 30-day warranty through the J & R I returned the machine for a full refund, rather than risk something goes wrong.

Please notebooks "note" is not a notebook. N. optical drive, not Core 2 Duo ULV, but the new kernel 2solo rocks! Is that what he says and then some. I improved my adding another 2 GB of RAM for $ 26. RAM Upgrade took about 50 seconds, a piece of cake!

I set this with Ubuntu 64-bit and it works like a charm. The driver had no stupid questions (like I did with my former (HP) laptop. And 'solid, quiet and not screaming that the multiplicity of LEDs seems to be so popular with the other brands (HP). The keyboard is a good feeling and the spacing and clear (easy readable). The touchpad buttons are a bit 'Clicky but just use an external mouse anyway.
